ICM IN-HOUSE MEMO #2

The following was written to employees at ICM Laboratories to caution them about recruiters.

Memo to All

Subject: Head Hunters

All of us are very aware that our industry is a hot item now. As such, anyone with some training and experience in this new field can become the target of a headhunter. This is fine and, even perhaps, somewhat flattering. But the important point to remember is that headhunters have their own best interests at heart not yours. After all, if they find you a position that you accept, then the headhunter makes his commission. And you better believe that they would tell you anything to make you accept their job.

I am not interested in preventing anyone from talking to headhunters. In fact, I would use the technique myself, but I would like to caution all here to make sure that the headhunter gets your head and not your butt. It will be you that goes to the new job not the headhunter. You will be the one having to adapt to new working conditions, new management, a new company, new co-workers, etc. The headhunter will sit idly by and collect his fee off of your emotions and sweat. And remember that the headhunter will not be leaving his position in the slightest. Your personal life will be on the line not his.

So look beyond the promises of a headhunter. Really analyze the situation to the nth degree before you go running off. Examine your future and opportunity here. Please give us the chance to discuss the subject in detail with you before you leap into the unknown.

Everyone has his own life to live, and everyone gets their chance to live it anyway they like in this country. This is our freedom and liberty. But this freedom and liberty gives you the chance to "blow it" as well. Just be sure that you have given the appropriate quality assurance to the your decision.

Rich

PS. This goes for our illustrious competitors as well, of course.
